Congee Club x Thread 2

Congee Club and Thread are combining to celebrate their second birthdays on 29 August at Miscellania. Attendees are invited for an electric night of queer Asian community, performance, and dance. The evening begins at 6pm in the clubroom with mahjong, exclusive crafts, and Rainbow Chan’s popular Lo Mai Chi workshop. Music and food by MyNameChef will be available on the rooftop. From 9pm, guests can enjoy DJ sets, live music, and a ballroom performance, promising an unmissable night of all things Asian and queer. Fifty percent of all profits will be directed towards Mob Strong Fund, Incarcerated TGD Fund, and Rising Red Lantern. The event aims to provide a safe and inclusive space primarily for East, South, or South East Asian LGBTIQ+ individuals to connect, express themselves, and embrace their identities. Other BIPOC, friends, and allies are welcome and asked to be mindful of the shared space. Miscellania, Thread, Congee Club, and the artists acknowledge that this event is held on stolen land, paying respects to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners and custodians of the land, and their elders past, present, and emerging. The venue enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against racism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, or any anti-social behaviour.
