Cookie Policy

Effective date: 25 April 2026 · Last updated: 25 April 2026

KIKII uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, app and related services. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how KIKII uses them, which parts of the platform may rely on them, and how you can manage your choices.

Read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Where required by law, KIKII will not set non-essential cookies unless you have given consent.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, such as whether you are logged in, which city you selected, what preferences you chose or how you use the site.

KIKII may also use similar technologies, including:

  • pixels
  • tags
  • SDKs
  • local storage
  • session storage
  • device identifiers
  • analytics tools
  • app performance tools
  • advertising identifiers
  • embedded third-party tools

2. Why KIKII uses cookies

KIKII uses cookies to help the platform work properly, feel personalised and improve over time.

We may use cookies to:

  • keep you logged in
  • remember your cookie choices
  • remember your selected city or location preference
  • remember filters, vibes, genres or search preferences
  • show nearby venues and events
  • personalise recommendations
  • improve venue, event, DJ, artist and promoter discovery
  • support public profiles and embedded media
  • understand which pages and features are useful
  • diagnose bugs and performance issues
  • protect KIKII from fraud, bots and abuse
  • measure marketing performance
  • support advertising and retargeting where permitted
  • improve search, recommendations and user experience

3. Cookie settings and your choices

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using our Manage Cookie Preferences page or via the cookie banner.

Strictly necessary cookies are always on because they're needed for KIKII to work. You can turn analytics, functional, advertising, error/performance and embedded content cookies on or off at any time.

4. Strictly necessary cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are required for KIKII to work. These cookies cannot be switched off through KIKII's cookie settings because the website or app may not function correctly without them.

KIKII may use strictly necessary cookies for:

  • account login and authentication
  • secure sessions
  • remembering privacy and cookie choices
  • fraud prevention
  • bot protection
  • load balancing and basic page navigation
  • secure access to account areas
  • saving form progress where needed
  • protecting invoice and account tools
  • keeping admin, editor or profile management features secure

5. Functional cookies

Functional cookies help KIKII remember choices you make so the site feels smoother and more personalised.

KIKII may use functional cookies to remember:

  • your selected city, such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or another nightlife location
  • your preferred suburb or area
  • filters used in search
  • selected vibes, music genres and crowd type preferences
  • event date filters and venue type filters
  • display and accessibility settings
  • whether you have dismissed banners, prompts or notices

6. Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies help KIKII understand how people use the platform so we can improve it.

Analytics tools may include services such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, PostHog, Cloudflare analytics, Firebase Analytics or similar product analytics tools.

Where required by law, analytics cookies will only be used with your consent. If you turn them off, KIKII can still operate, but we will have less information to improve the platform.

7. Advertising and marketing cookies

Advertising and marketing cookies help KIKII measure campaigns and, where permitted, show more relevant ads or retargeting.

Advertising tools may include Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads or similar measurement tools.

Advertising cookies are optional. You can turn them off through cookie settings, browser settings or relevant third-party advertising controls.

8. Error, crash and performance cookies

KIKII may use cookies, SDKs or similar tools to detect errors, crashes and performance issues.

Tools may include Sentry, Crashlytics, Firebase, New Relic, Cloudflare or similar error and performance monitoring tools. They help us keep KIKII reliable and secure.

9. Embedded content cookies

KIKII may include embedded content from third-party services. These services may set their own cookies or collect information when you interact with them.

Embedded content may include Spotify and SoundCloud players, YouTube videos, Google Maps, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook embeds, ticketing widgets and external booking widgets.

If you turn off embedded content cookies, some embedded media, maps or third-party widgets may not load or may require separate permission before displaying.

10. Location-related cookies

KIKII is built around nightlife discovery, so location preferences are important. We may use cookies or similar technologies to remember your selected city, suggest your closest city, show relevant venues and events nearby, remember region or suburb filters and improve city-specific nightlife pages.

On the website, KIKII may infer approximate location from your IP address to suggest a city or region. In the app, location access may rely on device permissions rather than cookies — manage these through your device settings.

11. Personalisation and recommendation cookies

KIKII may use cookies or similar technologies to personalise the experience — saved venues and events, selected vibes, preferred genres, crowd preferences, recently viewed venues, followed DJs, artists or promoters and preferred cities or neighbourhoods.

You can manage some personalisation through account settings, cookie settings or by clearing browser data.

12. Invoice tool cookies

If you use KIKII's invoice tools, cookies or similar technologies may help keep the feature secure and functional — keeping you logged in while creating invoices, saving session progress, protecting invoice pages from unauthorised access and enabling secure downloads.

Your invoice details, billing details and saved clients are private to your account. Cookie use does not make this information public.

13. Security and anti-abuse technologies

KIKII may use cookies or similar technologies to protect the platform from abuse, fraud and attacks. These may include Google reCAPTCHA, Firebase App Check, Cloudflare and AWS security tools, rate limiting, bot detection, web application firewalls and suspicious activity monitoring.

Some requests may be blocked or limited if they appear suspicious or automated.

14. Third-party services that may use cookies

KIKII may use third-party services that set cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs or similar technologies, including Google (Analytics, Maps, reCAPTCHA, Ads), Firebase, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Mixpanel, PostHog, Sentry, Crashlytics, New Relic, Hotjar, Smartlook, Cloudflare, Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Typeform, Stripe and ticketing or booking platforms where embedded.

Each third-party service has its own privacy and cookie practices. KIKII does not control all third-party cookies once you interact with those services.

15. Google Analytics and Cloudflare Zaraz

KIKII may use Google Analytics directly or through Cloudflare Zaraz. Where consent is required, analytics cookies should not be set until you have agreed to analytics cookies.

You can opt out through KIKII cookie settings, your browser settings, or Google's own opt-out tools where available.

16. Session replay and behavioural tools

KIKII may use session replay or behavioural analytics tools (such as Hotjar, Smartlook or Mixpanel Session Replay) to improve usability and diagnose problems.

Where used, KIKII aims to configure these tools to avoid recording sensitive information such as passwords, payment card numbers, private invoice details, authentication codes or sensitive form fields. Where required by law, these tools will only be used with consent.

17. Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you control cookies through settings — view, delete, block all, block third-party only, allow per-site, or clear on close. Common settings live in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and mobile browsers.

If you block all cookies, parts of KIKII may not work correctly.

18. Managing cookies in the KIKII app

In the KIKII app, some technologies may operate differently from website cookies. You may be able to manage push notification permissions, location permissions, app tracking permissions, analytics preferences, crash reporting preferences and advertising identifier settings through your device settings.

Some app features may not work if permissions are disabled.

19. Third-party opt-outs

You may also be able to opt out of certain third-party tracking through Google advertising settings, Google Analytics opt-out tools, Meta and TikTok advertising preferences, device advertising ID settings, browser privacy settings, industry opt-out tools and Global Privacy Control signals where legally recognised. These controls are operated by third parties, not KIKII.

20. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send Do Not Track signals. There is no universally accepted standard for responding to these, so KIKII may not respond to generic Do Not Track settings.

Where required by law, KIKII aims to recognise legally meaningful opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, and may treat them as a request to opt out of certain non-essential tracking, targeted advertising or sharing.

21. Cookie retention

Different cookies last for different periods. Typical retention periods include session cookies (deleted on browser close), login cookies (kept for the duration needed to keep you signed in), preference cookies (often several months), cookie consent cookies (usually up to 12 months), analytics cookies (often up to 26 months), advertising cookies (commonly 30 days to 13 months) and security cookies (as needed). Embedded content cookies are controlled by the relevant third-party service.

22. International data transfers

Some cookie-related data may be processed outside Australia by KIKII's service providers, including in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Singapore and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, KIKII uses appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

23. What happens if you disable cookies?

If you disable optional cookies, KIKII should still be usable, but some features may be less personalised or less functional.

If you disable functional cookies, KIKII may not remember your selected city, filters or preferences.

If you disable analytics cookies, KIKII will have less information to improve the platform.

If you disable advertising cookies, you may still see ads, but they may be less relevant.

If you disable embedded content cookies, Spotify players, maps, videos or social embeds may not load properly.

If you disable essential cookies through your browser, some parts of KIKII may not work at all, including login, account security, event creation, profile editing or invoice tools.

24. Updates to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in KIKII, technology, service providers, legal requirements or how we use cookies. The latest version will be published on KIKII with the updated date shown at the top.
