Big Girls Don’t Cry – Closing Party – Melbourne Queer Film Festival
The 36th Melbourne Queer Film Festival brings its celebrations to a close with a screening of Big Girls Don’t Cry, a raw and poignant coming-of-age feature by director Paloma Schneideman. Set in New Zealand in 2006, the film follows Sid Bookman, a 14-year-old girl navigating self-esteem, relationships and personal identity during a transformative summer. Following the screening, the festival hosts its closing night party to celebrate the stories, laughter and community of the season. Guests can come together over grazing tables and drinks to raise a glass to the conclusion of the event. Hospitality partners for the evening include Stomping Ground Brewing Co, Squealing Pig, The Melbourne Gin Company and Matéo Soda. DJ and performer details will be announced leading up to the night.
