Lismore Memorial Baths

Lismore Memorial Baths is a public recreational swimming facility located in Lismore, Brisbane. The complex features a range of pools designed for various uses, including an 8-lane, 51-metre Olympic pool suitable for competitive swimming and lap training. Additionally, there is a 4-lane, shaded 25-metre pool, providing a more relaxed swimming experience. For younger visitors, a 90-square-metre shaded toddlers' and children's pool is available, complete with its own plant room and security fencing. The facility offers modern amenities, including new changerooms, toilet facilities, and spectator seating. The original "Menin Gate" main entry building, which holds heritage significance, has been retained, while other infrastructure has been redeveloped to meet contemporary standards. The baths are equipped with all-new plant rooms and filtration equipment to maintain water quality. Shade cloth coverings are installed over the 25-metre pool and the children's pool for sun protection. For evening use, the complex is illuminated by eight 15-metre night lighting towers. Disabled access has been prioritised throughout the amenity areas, with a 22-metre-long pool access ramp provided for the Olympic pool. The baths are a focal point for public recreation in Lismore, catering to a broad community. The facility is situated within a 6(a) Recreation Zone, reflecting its purpose as a community asset.
