WIP Music proudly presents dance music legend Timmy Regisford. He is known for his distinct brand of soulful dance music, iconic extended sets and much sought-after productions and remixes. Timmy Regisford was one of the founding members behind the legendary Club Shelter parties in New York City. The inception of his internationally acclaimed club parties 35 years ago helped pioneer the soulful house music sound that has shaped house music across the globe. He has graced associated Shelter record labels including 157 Shelter Records, Restricted Access, and Un-Restricted Access, through to international labels such as West End, King Street, Apt, and Pony Canyon. He has also released many mix albums, including ‘NYC True Classics’ and The Legacy Of Shelter. In 1988, Regisford became A&R Director of Atlantic Records, signing acts such as Miki Howard and Levert. He later worked for MCA Records as A&R Director, developing Loose Ends and Colonel Abrams, and signing Guy and Eric B & Rakim. He also served as Vice President of A&R at Motown Records, signing artists like Milira, Blaze, Basic Black, Today, and Johnny Gill. Alongside his A&R work, he is credited in many remix projects with Patti LaBelle, Steel Pulse, New Edition, Bobby Womack, Gladys Knight & the Pips, The Boys, Diana Ross, Gerald Alston, and Stevie Wonder.
