VOID:HOMEPA is a Sydney limited edition underwear party that takes place on Friday, 19 June, from 10pm until late. It's a queer celebration wrapped in mystery and bass, designed as a safe space for expression. This event embodies the "HOMEPA" phenomenon, a slang term for a house party that originated in Asia's gay community. Historically, these were after-parties, often held in large hotel suites, where gay men could socialise freely. The defining element of a Homepa is that everyone strips down to their underwear. Expect melodic, anthemic, lyrical EDM and techno from surprise DJs in a Boiler Room style setup where artists and audience blend into one. Music will also include dark disco and thumping basslines, with a vibe that's a blend of Berlin, EDC Las Vegas, and Sydney. The venue is the newly reborn and renovated Civic Underground, featuring polished concrete and cavernous sound. All genders, sexualities, and nations are welcome, with a focus on respect, celebration, and kindness. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, and there are four pricing tiers available.
