Speed Mating Night 2 (Magandjin, Brisbane) presented by MELT.
Created in collaboration with Melt Festival, this event celebrates Queer arts, culture, and community, where connection is part of the experience and a new encounter can lead somewhere unexpected. Step into a moment of curiosity and see where it takes you. The evening encourages participants to embrace the rhythm of meeting new people, sharing giggles, and discovering where conversations might lead. It's about the connections that happen when you say yes to the opportunity to connect, be present, and explore the Queer joy that Melt is known for. This vibrant speed mating event is designed for connection, with limited spots available. Third Rodeo's goal for 2026 is to continue creating a fun, loving, and inclusive third space where people can be challenged, find community, and build meaningful connections. The name 'Third Rodeo' is inspired by the Third Place Theory, where authentic connections are forged outside of home and work, symbolising confidence and new experiences. The evening will kick off with a 'Name Game' from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, encouraging guests to mingle and exchange questions. From 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, participants will engage in speed mating, going on at least five 'friend dates' with introductions and fun questions. The social gathering continues from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with 'Call me cards' available to help maintain contact. Anna (she/her) will be your host for the night. The event takes place at The Cave Inn, Woolloongabba, in a casual, charming, and privately booked space. It is designed for persons 18+ and will feature loud chatter, background music, and low-level lighting. The venue is accessible with accessible bathrooms. Gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian food, and low/no alcohol beverage options will be available for purchase.
