Swapping the apps for actual human conversation in the middle of the week is usually an uphill battle, but LGBT+ Social Hub Melbourne is taking over Level 2 of StoryVille to make it considerably less painful. The night is built around women seeking women, welcoming lesbian, bi, pan, queer women and non-binary people who connect with women, whether you are after a date or just looking to expand your circle. Community facilitators Jenny and Merichel are on door and hosting duties to run speed mingling rounds, hand out welcome shots, and pass around wristbands so you can signal whether you want friends or something more… Most show up solo, and anyone booking before 23 November scores access to a temporary WhatsApp group to find someone to walk in with. Fair warning on the venue: Level 2 is up a flight of stairs with no lift access. Things wrap at 10 PM, leaving you plenty of time to catch the train home or see where the conversation leads.
