Queer as Foxtrot - Dance Party
Queer as Foxtrot hosts regular dance party events throughout the year, in addition to weekly dance classes for the LGBTQI+ community. This is an adult-only space for members and the wider LGBTQI+ community to gather and enjoy themselves. Join for a night of fun, frivolity, and extensive dancing. It's an affordable night out and an excellent opportunity to meet new people. The event includes dance games and giveaways, offering chances to win prizes. A partner is not required, as many attendees come alone, and dance experience is not necessary, as some instruction will be provided. Guests are welcome to join the dance floor or simply observe and enjoy the atmosphere, including student demonstrations which are a highlight of the night. Finger food, tea, coffee, and cask wine are included with entry. Attendees are welcome to BYO drinks or bring a plate to share. The dance program covers a wide range of styles, including Waltz, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Tango, Foxtrot, Jive, Rumba, Samba, Quickstep, Rock n Roll, and New Vogue. Freestyle dancing is also encouraged. The parties offer a safe and supportive environment for the community to connect. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and new members are always welcome. Queer as Foxtrot is a Ballroom & Latin dance studio for the LGBTQI+ community, offering a non-traditional approach to gender roles in dance, allowing participants to lead, follow, or do both. While weekly classes are held, the primary focus is on social connection through dance. The organisation also hosts dance parties approximately every three months and provides private lessons.
