Midsumma Carnival
Midsumma Carnival is Melbourne's largest queer day out, launching the 22-day Midsumma Festival. This vibrant riverside celebration transforms Alexandra Gardens into a hub for LGBTQIA+ arts, culture, community, and live entertainment. The event features four stages, showcasing iconic queer superstars, live music, DJs, and dancing. Visitors can explore over 200 stalls from LGBTQIA+ community groups, local businesses, and organisations. There are food zones, pop-up bars, and opportunities to discover inclusive sporting clubs. As evening approaches, the atmosphere shifts into an extravagant dance party across the Main and Picnic stages, featuring major headliners and thousands of people dancing. Free entry is offered, ensuring everyone belongs and can connect, discover new things, and celebrate the diversity of the community. The event is supported by the City of Melbourne and promises a day to remember, kicking off the Midsumma Festival.
