Life Drawing
Ease into learning how to draw the figure with artist-lecturer Luke Thurgate, who demonstrates and guides you to draw the human body. With a live nude model, you’ll study proportion and explore line, tone and expressive techniques. Beginning with quick small studies and developing a longer sustained drawing, this workshop is designed to be fun and challenging. It will introduce beginners to drawing from life while also offering more advanced students the opportunity to refine their skills. Art materials are included in the course fee. This workshop is open to participants over the age of 18 and is LGBTQI+ friendly. It caters to all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. Luke Thurgate is a lecturer in Drawing at the National Art School. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Newcastle and has an extensive exhibition history. Luke specialises in reappropriating cultural signifiers in his studio practice.
