Step into sapphic history as Lesbian Wine Club pays homage to the iconic lesbian bar, Le Monocle. Imagine a wood-panelled basement bar, cigarette smoke lingering, as you fix your tie before asking a femme to dance. Le Monocle was a Parisian lesbian club operating from the 1920s until the Nazi occupation of France in the 1930s. It was a haven for the sapphic upper class, where women dressed in tuxedos and wore their hair in bobs, as described by Florence Tamagne. Attendees are encouraged to wear their most dapper outfit, or come as they are, to enjoy Lesbian Wine Club as Panacea is transformed into Le Monocle for one night. The event is designed for both solo attendees and groups, with hosts on hand to facilitate connections and ensure everyone has a great time. Lesbian Wine Club welcomes everyone from the LGBTQIA+ community, including trans, non-binary, and bi individuals. They acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and offer free tickets to First Nations people upon request. The event maintains a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate conduct, including sexual harassment, racism, transphobia, biphobia, and ableism. Tickets are non-refundable and are priced at $20 per person, excluding booking fees.
