Honey Dijon - SYDNEY - MANNING COURTYARD
Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, and cultural force Honey Dijon is set to return to Eora this November. Born and raised in Chicago, the birthplace of house music, Honey Dijon has dedicated over two decades to sharing the global language of dancefloors. Her signature sound draws deeply from the soul and vibrant energy of Chicago house, the driving machine-funk of Detroit, and the foundational elements of disco, gospel, funk, and R&B. Expect pumping basslines, powerful diva vocal chops, and intricate rolling percussion, all masterfully woven together with her encyclopaedic musical knowledge. Honey Dijon's influence extends significantly beyond the DJ booth. She co-produced tracks for Beyoncé's critically acclaimed RENAISSANCE album, injecting the history and sound of Chicago house into one of pop music's defining dance records. She has also remixed Madonna and released two of her own albums, including 2022's 'Black Girl Magic'. Fashion is another crucial extension of her worldview, with her label Honey Fucking Dijon and various collaborations translating club culture's codes and self-expression into clothing. Her work consistently champions the Black and queer communities from which house music originated, aiming to create 'role possibility' rather than just role models. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land where this event takes place, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. Their continuing connection to Country, culture, and community is recognised. Sovereignty was never ceded; always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
