Fabrication 001

Fabrication is built on the belief that the experience should be treated like an artist treats a canvas. Production isn't just decoration; it's an integral part of artistic expression. Each edition involves a meticulous design study, where sound, light, space, branding, and atmosphere are individually considered before being incorporated into the room. There's a commitment to originality, ensuring nothing is generic or borrowed from previous or future events. This opening chapter explores house music in three refined forms: minimal tech-house, progressive house, and rolling tech-house. These genres, characterised by repetition and restraint, mean that even the smallest shift in a groove can captivate the entire room. The night is structured as a gradual musical journey, rather than a series of disconnected moments. The lineup features Jake Blackwell, known for his groove-building within tech-house, focusing on stable transitions rather than drops. Jesse Bligh brings sixteen years of experience with low, rolling bass, groove-heavy drums, and textures inspired by 90s house, French-touch, and UK club culture. Bellxsxs treats house as a versatile vessel, crafting a blend of deep house, indie dance, and techno that is bassy, grungy, and at times ethereal, already a fixture in Melbourne's CBD and Chapel Street. The venue offers a hidden courtyard, creating an intimate atmosphere capped at 140 people. Lighting remains low, and a thick haze transforms the DJs into mere shapes and outlines, revealing only what is necessary. Tickets are released in tiers via Humanitix.
