Experimental Drawing

This workshop, led by Dr Toshiko Oiyama, explores various methods to stimulate creativity in drawing. Participants will engage in guided experiments and playful exercises, from unconventional pencil-holding techniques to using touch for focused observation, aiming to refresh their perception of the world. Experience expanding your drawing beyond current horizons using your entire being. The session will focus on monochrome palettes, incorporating both traditional and non-traditional media and materials. Art materials are included in the course fee. This workshop is open to participants over 18 years of age and welcomes all levels of experience. It is noted as an LGBTQI+ friendly event and will be held on campus at the National Art School. Dr Toshiko Oiyama is a lecturer in Drawing at the National Art School.
